Advertising And Sponsorship
Updated 1 September 2026. Xyjecta may publish clearly labelled advertising or sponsorship while protecting the independence of editorial coverage. This policy applies to any paid placement appearing anywhere on the site, including a banner within an article, a sponsored listing on our resources page, or a sponsored mention within an event description. It is intended to be read alongside our editorial policy, which governs how independent articles are produced regardless of any commercial relationship described here. We maintain this separate policy because our readership, adults aged 35 and beyond making real decisions about training and nutrition, deserves clarity about when content is commercially motivated and when it is not. We apply the same standards described below regardless of the size of the advertiser or the value of the placement, since a smaller or newer advertiser is no less subject to our labelling and content standards than an established one.
1. Labelling
Paid placements use visible labels such as Advertisement, Sponsored, or Partner message. The label is placed prominently at the start of the relevant content block, not in small text that a reader could easily overlook, and uses consistent wording across the site rather than varying language that might obscure the commercial nature of the placement. Where a sponsored article is written in an editorial style, the label appears both at the top of the piece and is repeated if the piece is long enough that a reader might scroll past the initial label without noticing it. We consider mislabelling, or omitting a label entirely, a serious breach of this policy regardless of the advertiser involved. A repeated or deliberate labelling failure by an advertiser would result in the immediate suspension of that advertiser's placements while the matter is reviewed, consistent with the complaints process described in Section 8.
2. Separation
Commercial material is kept distinct from reporting, reviews, and the editorial calendar. This means a sponsor cannot direct which independent topics we cover, request favourable treatment within an unrelated article, or see unpublished editorial content before it appears. The team managing advertising relationships does not assign or edit independent articles, and the editorial desk described in our editorial policy does not report to the advertising function. Where a sponsor is also the subject of independent editorial coverage, such as a brand mentioned factually in a general article, that mention is handled under ordinary editorial sourcing standards rather than as a favour tied to the sponsorship. This structural separation is reviewed as part of our annual policy review, and any proposed change to how commercial and editorial functions interact would be evaluated specifically against the risk of undermining reader trust before being adopted.
3. Prohibited Claims
We do not accept copy that promises cures, guaranteed outcomes, fear-based urgency, or unsupported health transformation. This includes language suggesting a product will cure or prevent a medical condition, a guarantee of a specific measurable result within a fixed timeframe, or messaging designed to alarm a reader into an immediate purchasing decision. We also decline advertising copy relying on unverifiable superlative claims or misleading urgency framing, consistent with the neutral, informational tone we aim for across the entire site. An advertiser whose submitted creative does not meet these standards is asked to revise it before the placement is accepted, and a placement already running may be removed if it is later found to breach this section. We review submitted creative before it goes live rather than relying solely on post-publication complaints, and a repeated pattern of non-compliant submissions from the same advertiser results in a more cautious, case-by-case review of any future creative from that advertiser.
4. Audience
Creative is reviewed for suitability for adult readers and for clarity about what is being offered. This review considers whether the product or service advertised is clearly described, whether pricing or terms referenced in the creative are presented accurately, and whether the overall presentation is appropriate for a general adult readership interested in fitness and wellbeing topics. We do not accept advertising for restricted categories such as tobacco, weapons, illegal substances, or gambling services, and we review nutrition-related advertising in particular for the same cure or guarantee language restricted in Section 3. Where a creative is ambiguous about what is actually being offered, we ask the advertiser to clarify before publication. We also decline advertising that targets the specific vulnerabilities sometimes associated with our age-35-and-beyond readership, such as copy that plays on anxiety about ageing or declining capability to pressure a purchasing decision.
5. Data
Advertising partners do not receive contact-form content from Xyjecta without a separate lawful basis. A reader who submits a question through our contact form is not automatically shared with an advertiser as a sales lead, and any such sharing would require its own clear consent process entirely separate from ordinary editorial correspondence. Where an advertising partner operates its own tracking on a placement, such as a standard ad-serving technology, that partner's data practices are governed by its own privacy notice rather than by Xyjecta's privacy policy. We require advertising partners to operate within applicable Indonesian and international data-protection expectations as a condition of working with us. Before any advertising partnership begins, we review the partner's own published privacy practices at a basic level to confirm they are not obviously inconsistent with the standards we hold ourselves to, though we do not audit a partner's internal systems directly.
6. Cookies
Optional measurement is described in cookies.php and can be rejected without blocking articles. Where an advertising placement relies on any browser-based measurement beyond the analytics category already described in our cookies policy, that measurement would be disclosed there before being activated on the site. A reader who rejects optional cookies through the consent banner continues to see any advertising present on the page, simply without the optional measurement layer attached to it. We do not currently run personalised or behaviourally targeted advertising based on cross-site tracking. Should this change in the future, the cookies policy would be updated first and the consent banner refreshed, consistent with the approach described there, so that no reader encounters a materially new tracking category without an opportunity to decline it.
7. Review
Campaigns are checked for misleading pricing, inaccessible design, and unclear commercial intent. Misleading pricing includes a headline figure that omits a material condition or additional cost necessary to actually obtain the advertised price. Inaccessible design includes creative that would fail the basic legibility and contrast expectations described in our accessibility statement, such as low-contrast text over a busy background image. Unclear commercial intent includes creative designed to resemble independent editorial content so closely that a reasonable reader might not realise it is an advertisement, which we require to be corrected before a campaign is approved. We conduct this review before a campaign first goes live and again if the advertiser submits updated creative partway through an ongoing placement, rather than treating the initial approval as covering every future version of the campaign.
8. Complaints
Send a concern to Jalan Garuda No. 12, Kebon Sirih, Menteng, Jakarta Pusat 10340, Indonesia. A complaint about a specific advertisement is most useful when it identifies the page on which the advertisement appeared and the approximate date it was seen, since advertising placements may rotate and an older campaign may no longer be active by the time a complaint is reviewed. We treat an advertising complaint with the same seriousness as an editorial correction request described in our editorial policy, and we may suspend a placement while a significant concern is investigated. Where a complaint reveals a genuine breach of this policy, the advertiser is notified and the placement is corrected or removed. We aim to acknowledge an advertising complaint within a few business days and to reach a resolution, including notifying the complainant of the outcome where contact details were provided, within a timeframe comparable to the complaints process described in our privacy policy.
9. Contact
Call +62 21 6853 0927 for commercial questions; editorial decisions remain independent. A prospective advertiser can use this number to discuss placement options, pricing, and the labelling and content standards described above before submitting creative for review. A reader with a general question about why a particular advertisement appeared on a page they were reading is also welcome to call or use the contact form, and the response will explain the relevant placement without implying that the advertiser influenced unrelated editorial coverage. We keep commercial and editorial enquiries routed to different parts of our small team wherever practical, consistent with the separation described in Section 2. A prospective advertiser is also welcome to request a copy of this policy in writing before entering into any agreement, so that the standards described here are agreed upfront rather than discovered only once a campaign is already running.
10. Date
This policy was reviewed on 1 September 2026. The review confirmed that our labelling, separation, and prohibited-claims standards remained consistent with current advertising practice on the site, including the current absence of any restricted-category advertising described in Section 4. We expect to review this policy again on a roughly annual basis, aligned with the cadence described across our other policy pages, and sooner if we introduce a new advertising format, such as a sponsored newsletter, not already addressed above. Any future change that affects how a reader experiences advertising on the site, rather than a purely internal process update, will be reflected with a new dated entry at the top of this page. We also intend to note within this change history whether any placement was suspended or removed following a complaint under Section 8, so that our enforcement of this policy remains as transparent as the policy itself.
