How we work

Evidence With A Human Scale

Our editorial method keeps practical experience and responsible uncertainty in the same room.

What We Mean By Methodology

Xyjecta is an editorial publication, not a research institution or a clinic. When we describe a method, we mean the set of habits our writers and editors follow before a sentence about training, nutrition, or recovery is published — how a claim is checked, how uncertainty is described, and how a reader can tell the difference between an observation and an established finding. We think readers deserve to know this process, partly because fitness media has a long history of overstating certainty.

Our editorial standards were formalised in early 2025 and have been revised twice since, most recently in July 2026, after an internal review of several articles where sourcing language was judged too confident relative to the underlying evidence.

Our Process

  1. Define The Question

We state the practical issue before searching for a conclusion, which helps avoid selecting evidence that merely confirms an appealing headline.

  2. Check The Source

We prefer transparent research, qualified interviews, and clearly attributed observations over anonymous claims or recycled marketing copy from unrelated products.

  3. Explain Limits

We identify what a story cannot establish and avoid universal promises, noting when a finding applies to a specific population, age range, or training background.

  4. Invite Correction

Readers can contact the desk when context, language, or attribution needs attention, and corrections are logged publicly rather than edited silently.

How We Weigh Different Types of Evidence

Source TypeHow We Treat ItExample Use
Peer-reviewed researchCited directly with context on sample size and populationBackground on training adaptations
Interviews with coaches or cliniciansAttributed by name and credential where permittedPractical framing of a concept
Reader-submitted observationsPresented as individual experience, not generalised findingsCommunity and journal features
Industry or marketing materialTreated with caution and rarely cited without independent verificationGenerally avoided as a standalone source

What This Methodology Does Not Cover

  • It does not make Xyjecta a medical or clinical authority; readers with specific health concerns should consult a qualified professional directly.
  • It does not guarantee that every external source cited remains accurate after publication, since research and guidance can change over time.
  • It does not apply retroactively to articles published before the standards were formalised, though older articles are gradually reviewed.
  • It does not cover user-generated content in community spaces, which is moderated under separate community guidelines.

A Note On Uncertainty

"We would rather publish a cautious sentence that ages well than a confident one that needs to be quietly corrected a year later."
